The Kitchen

The kitchen is cosy and calm. Just the place for a cup of tea and a chat. There is a Rangemaster oven with an induction hob, a big Fisher and Paykel fridge, a dishwasher, washing machine, kettle and blender (for those green smoothies before the cold water swimming). It can get a bit snug if there is full house and you’ve prepared a big meal, but you can definitely squeeze in, or just take the food through to the living room or down to the shop
The Living Room

Overlooking historic High Street in Hastings Old Town, the living room has front seat view of the parades that wind along the High Street when the town is celebrating. Look out for Jack in the Green, Hastings Carnival, Pirate Day, and the Hastings Bonfire Parade.
Bathrooms

The cast iron bath was in the house when I bought it. We rescued it and refinished the enamel, I found and restored the toilet cistern and we added little wooden shutters to the borrowed light window in this pretty bathroom so you could luxuriate in perfect privacy and bubbles. The shower room is tiny but perfectly formed. Black Bejmat tiles set off the unlaquered brass rainfall shower perfectly. A little window with frosted glass lets borrowed light in from the stairwell.
Master Bedroom

It would seem rude not to sleep in in the super king size bed in this spacious room. The traditional sprung mattresses is all natural, with Yorkshire wool, Egyptian cotton and home-grown hemp. The sheets and towels are organic cotton and all you have to do is relax
Workroom

This little workroom has a borrowed light window that surely used to be used to keep and eye on the comings and goings in the shop (and the staff) whilst the proprietor busied himself in the rear workroom. You can just read a book.
Scullery

We have restored the old scullery & external toilet, replacing the original sink and toilet and exposing the old Victorian brick pavers. The window has the name of Frederick Benham carefully inscribed. Henry Benham owned and lived in the property from 1909-1915. Perhaps Frederick was his father?
The Nursery

The nursery room is at the very top of the house, next to the bathroom and opposite the medium double. It has two sweet single beds with brass bedframes and a lovely “high street” dolls house for children (and adults) to play with. The wardrobe suitcase in here used to belong to the manager and sister of a Prima Ballerina.
Small Double Room

This small double bedroom overlooks the garden and has a lovely peaceful feel. As with all the rooms the traditional sprung mattresses is all natural, with Yorkshire wool, Egyptian cotton and home-grown hemp. Sheets and towels are organic cotton.
